Laurent Bernut is the CEO of Alpha Secure Capital (ASC). He has two decades of experience in the alternative investment space, across companies like Fidelity Investments, Rockhampton, and Ward Ferry.
After becoming a certified public accountant in the United States, Laurent compiled financial statements in both Japanese and English for a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed corporation. After serving as an analyst in two Tokyo-based hedge funds for five years, he joined Fidelity Investments Japan as a dedicated quantitative short-seller. His mandate was to underperform the longest bear market in modern history: Japanese equities.
